1. Purchase a license from the app or website (via LemonSqueezy)
2. Check your email for the license key from LemonSqueezy
3. In Meva, click the license badge → "Enter License Key"
4. Enter your license key
5. Click "Activate"

One Pro license allows activation on up to 5 devices simultaneously.

What counts as a device:
• Each computer (Mac, Windows, Linux)
• Each user account on a shared computer
• Each virtual machine

Example: You can activate on your work Mac, home Windows PC, laptop, and 2 more devices.

You can view and manage all your activated devices:

1. Click the "Pro" badge in the sidebar, or
2. Go to Help → Manage Devices...

In Device Management you'll see:
• Total devices used (e.g., "3 of 5 devices")
• List of all activated devices with computer name and activation date
• Your current device highlighted in the "This Device" section
• Deactivate button for your current device to free up a slot

Yes! Deactivate from your old device to free up a slot:

1. On your old device, open Meva
2. Click the "Pro" badge → "Deactivate this device"
3. Activate on your new device with your license key

If old device is unavailable:
Contact hello@usemeva.com and we'll reset your activations.

If you try to activate on a 6th device, you'll see: "Device limit reached (5/5)"

Solutions:
1. Open Device Management on any activated device
2. Click "Deactivate this device" to free up a slot
3. Activate on your new device

In Meva:
• Look at the badge in the sidebar (shows Pro, Trial, or Free)
• Click the badge for more options
• Pro users: Opens Device Management showing all your devices
• Free/Trial users: Opens the Upgrade modal

Device Management shows:
• Devices used vs. limit (e.g., "3 of 5 devices active")
• All activated devices with their computer names
• Your current device highlighted with deactivate option

From the device:
1. Click the "Pro" badge in the sidebar
2. In the "This Device" section, click the trash icon
3. Confirm deactivation

No, the trial is one-time per device. If you've previously used a trial, you'll see "Trial already used" and can either:
• Upgrade to Pro
• Continue with Free edition

Check these common issues:

• "Invalid license key" — Verify the key format. Copy/paste from email to avoid typos.
• "Device limit reached" — Deactivate an unused device first (see Device Management)
• "Network error" — Check internet connection and try again in a few minutes.
• "License key not found" — Double-check you're using the correct key from your LemonSqueezy email

This can happen if:

1. Different device: License activated on another device
2. License not entered: Click the license badge in the sidebar → Enter License Key
3. App data cleared: Re-enter your license key

4. Report the issue: Email hello@usemeva.com with:
   • Your OS and version
   • Steps that led to the crash
   • Any error messages

Your documents: Never. Everything stays on your device. We cannot access, read, or store your files.

Usage analytics: None. Meva doesn't collect any telemetry, analytics, or usage data. There are no tracking pixels, no phone-home features, and no crash reporting.

Network connections: Meva works 100% offline. The app never connects to external servers, doesn't require an internet connection, and doesn't send any data anywhere.

Your privacy isn't a setting you toggle — it's how Meva is built.

Everything stays on your device. Meva doesn't have servers that store your data.

• Your documents: Meva reads files directly from where you save them. We don't copy, cache, or move your files anywhere.
• App preferences: Settings like theme choice and window size are stored locally in your system's standard app data location.
• License information: Your activation status is stored securely on your device using your operating system's built-in credential storage.

Bottom line: Your files never leave your computer. There's no cloud sync, no backup to our servers, no data collection. Meva is a local-first app by design.

• Share, sell, or redistribute your license key
• Reverse engineer or decompile the software
• Circumvent license restrictions or feature limits

Major version upgrades (e.g., 1.x → 2.0) may require a separate purchase. We'll announce pricing for major upgrades when they're released. Existing customers typically receive discounts.
